It seems like the day before yesterday that all started. We’ve begun with few resources, just with good ideas, ready to put them into practice. After 10 years many things have changed, and who knows if this was how we would have imagined this day, but the reality is more incredible of expectations we could have had. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our team, which is committed every day, and all our customers who have chosen us and continue to do so.
In this regard, we interviewed our two customers: the first mold maker and the first foundry who started this journey with us ten years ago.

Interview with Luisa & Romeo Facchetti from Omsaf, Piq2’s first mold maker and first ever customer.

What prompted you about 10 years ago to choose PiQ² software instead of others?

First of all, we liked believing in young people who have embraced their project. It was a company from our area, from our university. A young company that believed, and still believes, in people. We have decided to trust it. And we really enjoyed doing it, supporting them and embracing their ideas. When we met PiQ², and a working relationship began, there was still no software, only many ideas, good intentions, and a great desire to do. But compared to what the market offered 10 years ago, PiQ² still presented itself as a much more agile software than that of competitors.
Our trust in them was so high that we took the order off before using the software.

Let’s deepen this detail: agile

Despite its youth, PiQ² has had the ability to make timing more within reach of companies like ours, where time is often running out. We were certainly aware that other softwares had been on the market longer and performing, but they were hardworking for our needs. Instead Piq² was growing, there were many good intentions and a long way to run, but the competitors have been overtaken by their stubbornness.
They came up with a simple usability software, where the user himself is put in a position to be able to learn the software quickly, thanks to this simplicity and its intuitiveness. All this thanks also to the technical customer support, where even today, if an answer is needed, it’s quick to provide it, and the support is constant.

Which feature you appreciated most during these years of use?

They could be enclosed in two aspects: the simplicity of use and the speed of the service response.

Interview with Massimiliano Mario from Lomopress Group, Piq2’s first customer foundry.

What prompted you about 10 years ago to choose PiQ² software instead of others?

At the first point the references and the acquaintance of one of the founders: the engineer Panvini. Having met him during the academic path, I appreciated his competence and professionalism and this led to entrust us.
On the second point, the trust given to a project that took inspiration from the Brescian academic world. We wanted to bring our company closer to the scientific world, shortening the distance between the two realities by promoting better cooperation with Brescian research world.
At the third point, there was the opportunity for mutual growth, sharing skills together. We too were very different 10 years ago, and less structured. Facing increasingly complex markets, we evaluated the main players on the market, to keep up to date, and have an opportunity for development in engineering and we decided to trust a local company made up of professionals we already knew.

And finally, the integration and compatibility of the software with our CAD systems. Castle is perfectly compatible with our systems, and this was one of the main levers for our decision. This made us fast and flexible in planning.

How is the use of Castle perceived by your customers?

By dividing the types of customers into two strands: there are those who are not sensitive to simulation processes, for example, customers not related to the automotive sector, who are fairly neutral. When we show the customer the simulations of the products in the technical review phase, they appreciate the tool, but they do not have the sensitivity to fully do it, nevertheless, the simulations make them feel more confident.
As for customers who know the simulation very well (typically car maker or tier 1 automotive), when we show the Castle Software, being less widespread internationally, there is an analysis phase by the customer’s technicians. Even if it is initially perceived as a local tool, demonstrating its reliability, showing the results in terms of the final quality of the product, and after having responded to their questions, they ensure compliance and recognize it.

Why should a company choose PiQ²’s Castle today over other software on the market?

We believe a company should choose Castle today for its ease of use, and intuitive interface. I believe they are the distinguishing elements of the suite. For the efficiency of customer service: fast, competent and helpful. For any problem they have always proved to be very helpful and quick.
Finally for economic competitiveness: we believe that it is a sustainable and reasonable solution for companies, and we believe that it can make the difference in terms of discontinuity of knowledge, compared to those without it.

Thanks to Luisa, Romeo Facchetti and Massimiliano Mario for these interview and for these years of collaboration.
